Porsche 911 Turbo
With over thirty years of evolution underneath its belt. How far has the Porsche 911 Turbo come? It was re-launched; I would argue as the flagship for the German sports car manufacturer and is still highly identifiable. The overall shape, which is trademarked, has got the benefit of modern day aerodynamic knowledge and testing. There's also the small matter of technology being some what better than days long gone. Does it, from an aesthetic point live up to its reputation? You only
need one look. In fact you don't need to look, you only need to listen. It is usually greeted with the same three words. I want one! This truly is a car, no, a super car for the twenty first century.

Porsche Turbo
It comes equipped with four hundred and eighty horses at six thousand revs per minute. From a standing start, it is capable of launching you into outer space. Zero to sixty two miles per hours (0 to 100 kph) can be reached in 3.9 seconds. Even quicker with tiptronic flappy paddle gear change. Two tenths of a second quicker. One hundred miles an hour is reached in 7.8 seconds, and it tips the top speed at three hundred and ten kilometres per hour. That's a hundred and ninety three miles
per hours. On sale in the UK, manual transmission, including VAT, for £97,000 and some pocket change and tiptronic S for just short of six figures (£99,801.00), for power, poise, style, elegance and prestige, we believe the Porsche Turbo cannot be beat.
911 Turbo
The up and coming 2007 version is supposed to be even better. This can be largely credited to the variable turbine geometry system, which to our knowledge, is the first petrol engine to use this technology. It is built around guide blades, which can angle themselves to lead the engine exhaust flow more accurately and precisely onto the Turbo's impeller wheel. Clever stuff. The end result is better power performance not only at high speeds, but also low speeds. Effectively it is like
having two different turbochargers fitted. A small and also a large specification. Managing this extra power is done through the 911 Turbo's all wheel drive system. The new multi disc, electronically managed replaces the old style viscous set up, giving greater performance during gear shifts. PTM (Porsche traction management) gives superb handling on winding roads, the power being equally distributed to give the better handling. It is also probably one of the lightest four wheel drive set-ups on the market
today. All in all, the new Porsche 911 Turbo is a serious car, with serious power, and about as much fun you can have for one hundred grand. It is much more refined and better to drive than it nearest rivals, like the Aston Martin Vantage and BMW M6 and miles more fun, even though its competitors are more cost effective.
